Heading off for a day at the beach?
When it comes to beach days there isn’t a right or wrong way to prepare. But there are a few bits I reckon will make your day more enjoyable.
The beach has become my second home recently. I’ve even managed a few sea swims, which are my absolute favourite! Are you are a beach person or a pool person?
I’d love to hear your beach essentials in the comment section.
This is a MUST. Every year I have a skin fail and end up bright pink at least once…but not this year (yet, anywhere). I’ve definitely caught the sun but I’ve been really careful with applying sun cream consistently throughout a beach trip and my skin has been a lot happier than most summers. I use the Nivea Protect and Bronze (currently 2 for 12 in Wilko’s!). It’s really light and not greasy at all.
A GOOD BOOK
One of my favourite things about summer is sitting in the sunshine with a book in my hands. Looking for a great novel to get stuck into on the beach? I shared my favourite summer-reads here.
BEACH TOWEL/ BLANKET COMBO
Want a stylish blanket to lounge on? (and for the insta flat lays… let’s be real). To save space, consider picking up a beach towel which has blanket material on one side and towel material on the other. I grabbed one from TESCO (I can’t find the link anywhere, but this one is similar)
I recently borrowed my boyfriend’s gopro and took it into the sea to capture some memories with my friends which I couldn’t have otherwise. I even tried my hand at editing and made a short video which I’ll treasure forever (if you’re interested, you can watch it here) Gopro’s offer incredible quality but they come at a price. If you aren’t ready to invest, why not consider a cheaper action-cam alternative like this one. If you want to just take some fun holiday snaps on your phone, why not grab a waterproof pouch like this one.
Heading out and the sun’s shining? This is Britain and as sad as it is, it’s good to be prepared for the weather to change suddenly. A pacamac is compact and handy. This Peter Storm coat is currently in the sale and is such a lovely colour!
What’s in your beach bag this summer?
