As we head towards warmer weather and longer days, it’s time for some spring cleaning! Are you wanting to bring a pop of spring colour to your space with some fresh decor?
Here are 7 creative ways to brighten up your home…
Why not bring a pop of string colour into your home with some fresh blooms? Grab some flowers from your local florist or supermarket and find yourself a vase just as pretty to display them in, like this metallic beauty from The Contemporary Home.
If you don’t have time to run to the shops each time your flowers die and want to splash out a little, a subscription to Bloom and Wild will mean a beautiful bouquet sent right to your door.
Candles are great all year round, but finding a floral, fresh scent is a great way to create a homey atmosphere in your home. This cute Love candle by Jodie gaul would look great on a coffee table (she has loadssss of other goodies for your home too, go have a look!)
Or, a DIY option might be to buy long candles from amazon and pop them into the top of a funky beer or wine bottle once you’re done with it. OR go even more DIY and make the candles from scratch! Check out this post to find out how.
If you want to make the most of that the longer day light hours and create a brightly lit space, mirrors are the answer. Why not experiment with shapes? This circle mirror is fun, as are these geometric, copper mirrors from Lisa Angel.
If you’re like me and your idea of fun is enjoying a cuppa with a friend, why not treat yourself to a couple of new mugs. (Am I the only one who enjoys the drink so much more when it’s in a mug I like?!). Look out for some bright pastel shades, like this pink cutie from Ikea. Want to really impress your friends? These tea cups and saucers from Gemma Wightman Ceramics would make a cute addition to a little afternoon tea party.
Are you in the midst of a spring clean? Why not invest in some new storage boxes to keep your home tidy. I love these canvas bags from Clouds and Currents. These adorable light pink boxes from amazon are also great value for money (they come in whole range of other colours too if pink isn’t your thang!)
Are your walls feeling a little bare? Bring a pop of colour into your home with some fresh art work. Why not do some research into some artists in your local area who you might like to support? Once you’ve fallen in love with some art, have a look for some frames. These chunky frames have a lot of rustic charm. Or if you prefer a more modern look, check out this minimal white frame from IKEA.
Pom Pom garland
(Ok, I’m sorry but I couldn’t not use this as an opportunity to plug my own business, please forgive me!!). My handmade pom pom garlands come in a range of colours and are a fun way to brighten up any wall, check out the garlands and my other yarn decorations here.
