I was blessed enough to spend a few days in Edinburgh just before Christmas and it was pretty magical.
Fairy lights, cute coffee shops, beautiful markets, historic buildings, even the odd bagpipe- to say there were loads of photo ops would be an understatement..it was honestly one of the most aesthetically pleasing places I’ve been to.
With the stresses of Uni far away, Matt and I explored the lovely Edinburgh, pottering around the main tourist spots as well as the little independent, quirky shops and cafes.
We certainly got the festive vibes we were looking for, and what was even more special was that I got to see where my parents got married when they eloped just over 20 years go (the building is now abandoned but there were still MANY feels.)
Here are some of my favourite moments…
The street of light
The Botanical Gardens
The Scottish Monument
The amazing views from various parts of the city
Ice-skating in St Andrews Square
And a few other lovely bits and pieces too
and of course this post wouldn’t be complete without a windswept airport selfie…
If you’re considering taking a trip to Edinburgh, DO IT! It’s really not expensive to fly from Gatwick and there’s so much to do, see and photograph! If you want to know more about our time in the beautiful capital of Scotland, pop it in the comments.
p.s these photos are a mix of matt and my own photos, in case you’re wondering just assume his are all the better ones!!
