To anyone who struggled to feel festive this Christmas

December 28, 2016

CHRISTMAS IS THE BEST, I’M JOYFUL AND FULL OF FESTIVE MERRIMENT!!!!!!!!

Do you feel like that’s what the world is telling you on social media?

It’s the happiest time of the year, after all.

I have a healthy love of Christmas and definitely love all things glittery and cosy and festive. BUT I also know that this time of year can be a reminder of the things in your life you might feel you’re lacking. All of the festive happiness can draw your attention to some of the unhappiness in your life.

Maybe things haven’t worked out how you planned this year and now you’re nearing the end of 2016 there are some regrets or disappointments that are tugging at you.

Although I can’t offer any specific advice, I feel like someone should acknowledge that the best day of the year, can be a really tough one for those experiencing any loneliness or sadness, especially people who’ve lost loved ones this year.

Perhaps you’re timeline is FULL of smiling faces, joyful families gathered around a tree and maybe you’re left feeling ‘why is everyone happier than me?’

I just wanted to let you know that you’re loved. God’s heart is broken with you and He loves you dearly. Maybe your household looks a bit different this year. Relationship breakdowns, financial stress, whatever it might be that’s caused you to struggle over the holidays, please know that this isn’t the end, it will get better.

Also, the intention of this post IS NOT to make anyone feel guilty about sharing your festivities online, I’ve put up a few photos myself. I just feel it’s important that while celebrating with our loved ones, to remember those in our circles who might be struggling this Christmas. Why not try reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while?

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

I hope however you spent your Christmas that you feel loved, because you are.

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me.
In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content
as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
